The Children's Program
Our Children's Program has been proven to provide the best possible foundation for dance education and social development. Wavering from this is solely the decision of a certified instructor. Creating a well rounded, solidly trained dancer will only come from a strong base and our Children's Program provides young dancers a solid base to build from. It can be damaging to a child to push too fast, both physically and emotionally. Dancers will remain within their age groups until age 7. At that point, dancers will have all the necessary fundamentals to proceed to multi-level progressions.
Mommy & ME! (age 2/3)
A wonderful class to introduce your little one to the world of dance with mom right by their side. Your dancer will learn skills to help develop both fine & gross motor movement to prepare for Pre-School, basic social skills like sharing & taking turns, beginner tumbling & flexibility, and creative movement.
PreDance I (age 3/4)
PreDance I has proven to be a great start to a successful dance education. Dancers will be introduced to pre-tap dance, pre-tumbling & acrobatics, building gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, musicality, and social skills. PreDance I will give your child all the basics to lead them through to the next class level. Dancers must be able to come into the classroom independently & must be potty trained. This is a good class for a 3 yr old who is fairly outgoing and a 4 yr old that has little or no training. PreDance I students will perform a tap dance routine in the year-end recital. Dancers not quite ready for PreDance I would greatly enjoy a Mommy & ME! class to get started.
PreDance II (age 4/5)
PreDance II dancers will be introduced to basic tap dance, creative movement & basic acrobatics/tumbling. They will learn memorization, sing-a-long songs, gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, musicality/rhythmic sounds, spacial awareness, social skills, classroom etiquette and an introduction to more advanced choreography. This is a great class for a 4 yr old that has done PreDance I or a 5 yr old with little or no training. PreDance II students will perform a tap dance routine and an acrobatics routine in the year-end recital.
Ballet Babies (age 4/5)
Ballet Babies dancers will be introduced to pre-ballet movement and creative movement. They will learn memorization, sing-a-long songs, gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, spacial awareness, social skills, and classroom etiquette. This is a great class for your budding ballerina! Ballet Babies students will perform one routine in the year-end recital. This class would be a great addition to Pre-Dance II!
Kinder Dance (age 5/6)
A wonderful follow up to our PreDance classes. KinderDance will give young dancers a great sense of all that dance has to offer with a beginner level tap & an introduction to ballet. Using the national standards of the Dance Master's of America syllabus, the Cecchetti Ballet Method, and graded technique curriculum, each class is guaranteed to cover all the necessary material to progress at a healthy and successful pace. Students will also continue learning more about musicality, rhythmic sounds, develop classroom etiquette, and social skills. KinderDance will perform a tap dance routine and a ballet routine in the year-end recital. Also, the Acrobatics - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to KinderDance!
Kombo Kids (age 6/7)
A combination of beginner tap as well as an introduction to jazz dance. This class can be taken alone or in addition to Pre-Ballet Technique. Using the national standards of the Dance Master's of America syllabus & graded technique curriculum, students in the Kombo Kids class will learn all the important fundamentals in the two core subjects of dance. This is a great class for a 6 year old that has completed KinderDance or a 7 year old that has little to no dance training. Students will perform two routines in the year-end recital (tap and jazz). Also, the Acrobatics - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to KomboKids!
Pre-Ballet Technique (age 6/7)
Pre-Ballet compliments the Kombo Kids class for dancers ages 6/7. At this age students will begin to learn classical ballet technique & terminology using national standards of the Dance Master's of America syllabus and the Cecchetti Ballet Method. This is a great class for the student that has completed KinderDance or a 7 year old that has little to no ballet training. Students will perform a ballet routine in the year end recital. Also, the Acrobatics - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to Pre-Ballet Technique!
Acrobatics - Level I (ages 5+)
Got a little one that flips all over your house? You've found the perfect class! A unique style of dance emphasizing spinal flexibility, balance & counter balance skills, control and strength. Acrobatics has become a favorite among the younger dancers who like to stretch, bend and tumble. Acrobatics dancers must be in good physical health to participate.
